80151 Photo-Charter
On Tuesday 27th April 2004
, No.80151 was employed on a Russ Hillier photo-charter. These first few photos show the train catching the early morning sunlight from the east side of the line in the Sheffield Park area.
The train was then worked up to Kingscote, where a number of run-pasts were undertaken, including some at the northern end of the station - an exciting taster of what it will be like when trains start arriving from East Grinstead!
After a short pause to allow No.96 to enter the station for its Extension duties, and a few more runpasts south of the station, it was time to collect the single-line token and head back towards Horsted Keynes.
The opportunity was taken to obtain some shots from the areas normally out of bounds to lineside permit holders, including a few of the train emerging from the southern portal of Sharpthorne Tunnel.
The next two shots show No.80151 casting a smoke screen over Vaux End P-Way hut, and emerging beneath Horsted House Farm bridge.
In the afternoon, it was more of the same, with this shot at Kingscote followed later on by a colourful moment at Horsted Keynes!
